Taymycin fumarate is a bacteriostatic antibiotic belonging to the pleuropleurin class, which is a derivative of pleuropleurin, but it also has bactericidal effect on sensitive bacteria at very high concentrations. Like macrolide antibiotics, Taymycin fumarate also inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by Chemicalbook binding to the 50S subunit of the ribosome. This product has good antibacterial activity against a variety of gram-positive bacteria including most staphylococcus and streptococcus (except group D streptococcus) and a variety of mycoplasma and Treponema dysenteriae.
Taimycin fumarate can be used to treat porcine pneumonia caused by actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae and porcine blood dysentery caused by treponemal. As a feed drug additive for pigs, it can promote weight gain. It is also effective for chronic respiratory disease of chicken, mycoplasma pneumonia of pig and staphylococcus synovitis of chicken.
