Chlorophyll is mostly extracted from plants (such as spinach, etc.) or dried silkworm sand. For example, chlorophyll can be extracted from silkworm sand by the following methods. Organic solvent extraction: Take clean silkworm sand, adjust it into pulp with more than 70% industrial ethanol, filter out dark green solution, and then dry it. Another operation is to mix 45 parts of petroleum ether, 15 parts of methanol and 4 parts of benzene, mix with clean silkworm sand to adjust the pulp, filter, and wash the filtrate with water for 4 times. Add a small amount of sodium sulfate in the organic extract to remove the residual water, filter, filtrate to recover the solvent to obtain chlorophyll. Physical separation: 0.4mChemicalbookol/L dilute sucrose solution and 0.06mol/L dilute potassium phosphate solution (pH 6-7) were mixed 1:1 to form a buffer medium. Add about 1L buffer medium for every 2kg silkworm sand, mix evenly, filter out green suspension with multi-layer emery cloth, centrifuge in low temperature for 5-10min, wash and precipitate with water, and centrifuge again to obtain chlorophyll precipitate. Chlorophyll is treated with oxalic acid to obtain magnesia-free pheophytin, and then magnesium is introduced to turn back into chlorophyll. The removal of phytol and magnesium with a strong acid results in the removal of magnesium chlorophyllin, and phytol can also be reintroduced. Phytol and methanol are removed by hydrolysis to produce chlorophyllin acid.
