      Chemical property
Dark blue triclinic crystals or blue crystalline particles or powders. It has an unpleasant metallic taste. Slow weathering in dry air. The relative density is 2.284. Higher than 150~C to form white and easily absorbent anhydrous copper sulfate. Decompose to copper oxide at 650ºC. Soluble in water (26.3g/100g, 20ºC), acidic, 0.1mol/L aqueous solution Ph value of 4.17(15ºC). Soluble in glycerol, soluble in dilute ethanol, insoluble in anhydrous ethanol.
     The use of copper sulfate
Copper sulfate can be used to kill fungi. It is mixed with lime water to produce Bordeaux liquid, which is used to control fungi on lemons, grapes and other crops. Dilute solutions are used in aquariums to sterilize and remove snails. Because copper ions are toxic to fish, the dosage must be strictly controlled. Most fungi can be killed with very low concentrations of copper sulfate. In addition, copper sulfate can also be used to control E. coli. Ketone sulfate aqueous solution has a strong bactericidal effect, mainly used in agriculture for the prevention of fruit trees, malt, potatoes, rice and other diseases, the effect is good, but the effect of rust, powdery mildew is poor.
