Description of CAS 103-16-2 MONOBENZONE
Monobenzone is a locally decolorising agent using as treating over-pigmentation, such as a variety of color spots, age pigments and melanoma, the effects being significant. It can decompose the melanin in the skin to prevent the formation of melanin,resulting in the skin recovering a healthy color without damaging melanin cells, and the toxicity of which is very light. It is usually used to make ointment or liniment. At present, there is no spot removing cosmetics made from monobenzone in our country, and spot removing cosmetics in the existing market show slightly effects for spots, a few having side effects.

CAS103-16-2 Monobenzone is soluble in alcohol, benzene and tertiary amines, and is almost insoluble in water.
CAS103-16-2 Monobenzone is a decolorizing agent that enhances the rate of elimination of melanin secreted by skin cells.
Studies have shown that the molecular mechanism of its action may be related to tyrosinase.
CAS103-16-2 Monobenzone Powder is a compound used as a topical drug for medical depigmentation.
The topical application of monobenzone powder in animals decreases the excretion of melanin from melanocytes.
The same action is thought to be responsible for the depigmenting effect of the drug in humans.
