Sodium benzoate, also known as sodium benzoate, is a food preservative commonly used in China's food industry at present, odorless or microstrip benzoin smell, with sweet astringent taste. Stable in the air, exposed to the air can absorb moisture. Naturally occurring in blueberries, apples, plums, cranberries, cranberries, prunes, cinnamon and cloves, its bactericidal properties are weaker than benzoic acid, 1.180g sodium benzoate bactericidal power is about 1g benzoic acid.
Use
1. Sodium benzoate can be used as a food additive (preservative), a fungicide in the pharmaceutical industry, a mordant in the dye industry, a plasticizer in the plastic industry, and an intermediate in organic synthesis such as spices.
