    Calcium chloride can be added to foods as a calcium booster, or as a coagulant for tofu and cheese. Calcium chloride can be added to alcoholic and refreshing beverages to regulate the PH and hardness of the beverage. It is used as calcium fortification agent, curing agent, chelating agent and desiccant in food industry. It can increase the permeability of bacterial cell wall. The dissolving and exothermic nature of calcium chloride makes it used in self-heating cans and heating pads.
     Used as a multi-purpose desiccant, such as nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, hydrogen chloride and other gases drying. Used as dehydrating agent in the production of alcohols, esters, ethers and acrylic resins. Calcium chloride aqueous solution is an important refrigerant for chillers and ice making, which can accelerate the hardening of concrete and increase the cold resistance of building mortar, and is an excellent building antifreeze. Used as port fogging agent and road dust collector, fabric fire retardant. Used as a protective agent and refining agent for aluminum and magnesium metallurgy. It is a precipitating agent for the production of lake pigments. Used for deinking waste paper processing. It is a raw material for the production of calcium salts.
