 Gosseed is a coumarin compound. Prismatic crystal (ether), acicular crystal (dilute ethanol), melting point 83 ~ 84ºC, boiling point 145 ~ 150ºC, soluble in alkali solution, methanol, ethanol, chloroform, acetone, ethyl acetate and boiling petroleum ether, insoluble in water and petroleum ether.
   Cnidium can also be used as field insecticides and fungicides, mainly with contact effect, supplemented by stomach toxicity. The liquid is absorbed into insects through the body surface, acts on the nervous system of pests, leading to non-functional muscle contraction of pests, and eventually dies. It has good contact effect on a variety of pests such as cabbage worms, tea inchworms, cotton bollworm, beet moth and various aphids.
