     Sodium butyrate is one of the feed additives allowed to be used in China, which was included in the "Feed additive varieties Catalogue" by the Ministry of Agriculture in 2006. The application method in animal production is mainly to add sodium butyrate products in animal feed, which plays the role of intestinal mucosal nutrition, electrolyte balance regulator, gastrointestinal microecological regulator, compound acidifier, aroma agent, food attractant and so on.
      The spontaneous combustion temperature of sodium butyrate is 425.0°C, the flash point is 69.0°C, the melting point is 250.0-253.0°C, and the bulk weight is 0.96gms/cm3(20.0°C). It is white to white, fluff-like, hygroscopic powder, with a special cheese rack-like odor, easily soluble in water, aqueous PH is alkaline.
